Klang's 3D in-ear monitors: Motion tracking the band so your ears match what your eyes see

In-ear monitors give musicians the ability to hear themselves and their band at safe volume levels during performances, no matter how big or small or loud the stage. But hearing your band in earphones can isolate you from what's happening on stage – which is what makes Klang's new 3D in-ears such a fascinating idea. This gadget tracks up to eight musicians in real-time, and alters everyone's stereo in-ear mix so that each instrument moves around in stereo space according to where the instrument is, and which way you're looking. If the bass player runs from stage left to stage right, you can hear him moving in your own mix. If you turn to face the keyboard player, she'll be front and center in your mix.
