BASIC en un Spectrum
Tal día como hoy, pero en 1964, un ordenador del Dartmouth College ejecutaba por primera vez un programa escrito en BASIC, un lenguaje de programación diseñado por John Kemeny y Thomas Kurtz.
Su idea era crear un lenguaje de programación sencillo de utilizar y que fuera interactivo a diferencia de lo que era habitual hasta entonces, aquello de escribir los programas en tarjetas perforadas, enviarlas a ejecutar, y esperar a que los resultados vinieran de vuelta, resultados que a menudo no eran más que un error porque una de las perforaciones estaba en el sitio equivocado.
Con BASIC , cuyo nombre viene de Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code, o Código simbólico de instrucciones de propósito general para principiantes, se escribía el código, se ejecutaba, e inmediatamente se obtenían los resultados.
Es un lenguaje que se hizo enormememente popular, y de hecho la mayoría de los ordenadores domésticos de los 80 venían con un intérprete de BASIC.

KAIST's wireless charging system can charge 40 smartphones simultaneously
Researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), have developed a wireless charging system that can charge around 40 smart phones at a time, from a distance of 5 meters (16 ft). While we've examined numerous wireless charging systems, even one that transmits power to up to 9 m (30 ft), KAIST's prototype can power multiple devices within its range.
